From Peak Performance to Purpose: Laura Beveridge Takes on Annapurna for Charity

In May 2025, Laura Beveridge, Area Sales Manager at STAUFF UK, will embark on her most ambitious challenge yet — the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek in Nepal. Over 9 intense trekking days, Laura will reach 4,130 metres above sea level, all in aid of an incredible cause: The Bimiri Foundation.

🚶‍♀️ A Trek Like No Other

The ABC Trek is one of Nepal’s most iconic high-altitude journeys. Laura and her team will navigate:

  • 10–15 km per day, walking 6–7 hours daily
  • Villages, tea houses, ridgelines, and jungles
  • Unpredictable conditions including altitude sickness risks (which often begins around 2,500m)

From Ulleri to Ghorepani, Poon Hill to Annapurna Base Camp, and finally back through Jhinu Danda, each day will challenge Laura’s endurance, resilience, and determination. It’s not just physically demanding — it’s mentally and emotionally transformative.

“This is by far the biggest challenge I have ever done — or probably ever will do,” says Laura. “But it’s nothing compared to the daily struggles faced by the people we’re supporting.”

Trekking for a Purpose: The Bimiri Foundation

Laura is raising funds for The Bimiri Foundation (TBF) — a grassroots Nepalese charity focused on delivering clean water to remote Himalayan communities. Their first completed project brought water to over 750 people in 112 homes. Now, they’re just a few thousand pounds away from funding a new pipeline for the village of Suara, which will provide tap access to all 45 homes.

During the trip, Laura will also participate in the Doku Challenge — a powerful cultural experience where she’ll carry heavy water baskets (dokos) from a jungle tap to the village, mirroring the daily burdens many women and young girls endure just to access water.

Training Through the Pain

This isn’t Laura’s first extreme trek — she’s previously conquered the Coast to Coast Trek, The Jurassic Coast, Yorkshire Three Peaks, and a remarkable 169 of the 214 Wainwrights. But this is her highest and toughest challenge yet, especially while managing asthma at altitude.

“I set myself a big challenge each year, and this is the biggest yet. I believe you can do anything you put your mind to. It’s about pushing limits — for yourself and for others.”

More Than Just a Hike

Laura’s goal isn’t just to complete the trek — it’s to make a measurable difference. Every donation supports materials, labour, and infrastructure to help people live healthier, safer, and more self-sufficient lives.

  • 99.5% of all funds raised go directly to projects
  • No middlemen. No wasted spending. Just real impact.

💛 How You Can Help

Laura is aiming to raise as much as possible for this life-changing project. Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference.
