STAUFF Test

STAUFF has a long-established reputation for manufacturing and supplying original test couplings and accessories for the temporary or permanent connection of analogue measuring equipment and digital sensors. They are ideal for a wide range of applications, including pressure monitoring in systems with liquid and gaseous media, venting, extraction of fluid samples for analysing contamination levels, and even hydraulic testers during active operation. The portfolio includes integrated ball valves / poppet valves which open only after connection, as well as matching test hoses and fittings in DN2 and DN4.

STAUFF Product Newsletters

STAUFF Product Newsletters

The STAUFF product newsletters provide information on relevant product-related news by e-mail at infrequent intervals, but not more often than once a month for each selected product segment.

Currently, newsletters are provided in five product segments, which can be subscribed to separately:

  • Pipe, Tube and Hose Clamps
  • Tube Connectors, Flanges, Hose Connectors, Quick Couplings
  • Test Points and Hoses, Measuring and Display Devices
  • Filter Housings and Elements, Hydraulic Accessories
  • Ready-to-Install Pipe, Tube and Hose Assemblies

The selection of the product segments according to product interest is made on the registration form. Here you also have the option of subscribing to the newsletters for all product segments at the same time.

What are STAUFF Test Couplings

STAUFF Test couplings allow machine operators and maintenance personnel to easily and safely connect analogue / digital measuring equipment and display devices to a range of systems. They are commonly used for monitoring pressure in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, venting, and collecting representative fluid samples to analyse contamination. This type of connection requires no tools and can also be carried out during active operations under full system pressure of up to 630 bar (depending on the coupling version).

The STAUFF Test product range offers a complete set of screw-in test couplings, which are based on international standards to ensure compliance with application requirements all over the world. We manufacture and supply five coupling options as standard:

  • STAUFF Test 20 – Connection thread M16 x 2 (with Ball Check)
  • STAUFF Test 20 – Connection threat M16 x 2 (with Piston Valve)
  • STAUFF Test 15 – Connection thread M16 x 1,5 (with Ball Check)
  • STAUFF Test 12 – Connection thread S12,65 x 1,5 (with Piston Valve)
  • STAUFF Test 10 – Plug-in system (with Ball Check)

The check valve (ball or poppet) integrated into the applicable test couplings opens only after the connection of a hydraulic tester with suitable adapters or hoses. This guarantees the safe sealing of the connection without the risk of leakages.

Those fitted with piston valves are best suited for gaseous applications, such as the monitoring and control of pressure, venting, and sampling in high or low-pressure systems. Both solutions offer a simple connection for many measuring, control, and switch devices.

Test Couplings & Accessories from STAUFF

STAUFF Test couplings are not crimped after insertion of the internal valve components and seals but rather closed with a threaded nipple in a fully automated process. Not only does this design contribute to maximum precision and process reliability in production, but it also ensures the proper functioning of the couplings. They also boast added vibration protection, which prevents the self-acting detachment of the metal cap during use.

As standard, our test couplings are available in stainless steel (V2A or V4A) or carbon steel with the original STAUFF zinc / nickel surface coating. This offers more than 1,200 hours of resistance against red rust / base metal corrosion in the salt spray chamber in line with DIN EN ISO 9227. The chromium (VI)-free coating thus exceeds the highest requirements concerning durability and complies with the valid ELV, REACH, and RoHS guidelines.

The STAUFF Test product range includes several accessories, including measuring hoses and adjustable gauge fittings, alongside hydraulic testers, display devices, and other analytics equipment – positioning STAUFF as a one-stop solution for all hydraulic and pneumatic measuring, control, and testing needs.

Safety in the hydraulic system with test couplings

Test couplings from the STAUFF Test range are already planned during the design phase of a machine and installed in suitable positions in the hydraulic system at the factory. They allow machine operators and maintenance personnel to easily and safely connect analogue and digital measuring and display devices for the temporary or continuous testing of system pressure and other factors. If required, they also allow venting of the system as well as collecting representative fluid samples, e.g. for analysing the degree of contamination of the fluid. This type of connection requires no tools and can also be carried out during operation under full system pressure up to 630 bar (depending on the type of coupling).

The check valve (ball or poppet valve) integrated into the test coupling opens only after connection of the hydraulic tester with suitable adapters or hoses. This guarantees safe sealing of the connection without leakages and danger of fluids escaping from the system.

STAUFF test couplings are not crimped after insertion of the internal valve components and seals but rather closed with a threaded nipple in a fully automated process. Not only does this design contribute to maximum precision and process reliability in production, it also secures the proper functioning of the couplings. The vibration protection, which prevents a self-acting detachment of the protective metal cap through vibrations in the system, is another competitive advantage.

For the finishing of the test coupling range in carbon steel, STAUFF relies on the zinc/nickel surface coating which has proven successful for many years. It provides more than 1200 hours of resistance against red rust/base metal corrosion in the salt spray chamber in line with DIN EN ISO 9227. The chromium (VI)-free coating therefore exceeds the highest requirements with regard to resistance and durability and also complies with the valid ELV, REACH and RoHS guidelines.

Versions in stainless steel V2A and V4A are generally available from stock. Alternative materials and surfaces are available on request.
